Pulau Tioman locally known as Gunung Daik Bercabang Tiga located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang. This island 39 km long and 12 km wide. Like a giant sleeping dragon, the dark green ridges of Tioman Island rise up above the waters of the South China Sea. On closer inspection, it becomes clear that the dragon’s dark green scales are in fact giant trees and impenetrable jungle; that the grey claws are giant granite boulders and that the dragon’s horns are twin peaks with smooth, straight cliffs, surrounded with swirls of mist.

The total protected mammal species in Tioman island is around 45 mammals.

Bird-watching is one of the attraction that this tropical island offers because this island is the home of the 138 bird species. These birds includes the hill mynahs, swifts, majestic Frigatebird, black-nest swiftlets, white-nest swiftlets, olive-backed sunbird, dark-necked tailorbird, terns, pink-necked pigeon, swiftlets, white-bellied sea eagles.
