The Siging of Global Marketing Agreement of Philippine Airlines and Travelport
The largest airline company in the Philippines, the Philippine Airlines, has signed a Global Marketing Agreement with Travelport. This Global Marketing Agreement enables connected travel agents Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan to gain access to the automated market fares. The agreement also states that the said travel agents will also take advantage of the additional functionality until the end of 2011.
The deal between the Philippine Airlines and Travelport includes two strategic solutions for the customers of Philippine Airlines with the implementation of Octopus Travel hotel content on the airline’s website and the deployment of Travelport Rapid Reprice, an automated ticket repricing product.
Customers of the Philippine Airlines can access to more than 21,000 hotels in 129 countries through the Philippine Airlines website where the content is provided by Travelport’s online travel company, the Octopus Travel. Customers and clients of Philippine Airlines will have a chance to choose hotels of their choice. It also gives opportunity to the customers to browse for hotels that offers discounts and promotions. Customers can also compare prices of the wide range of hotels from 5 star hotels and down and evaluate the facilities and amenities of the hotels.
In a separate initiative, Philippine Airlines has also become the first carrier in Asia to implement the industry leading automated ticket repricing product, Travelport Rapid Reprice. The product enables Philippine Airlines to recalculate a ticket reflecting the appropriate taxes, additional collections, refunds, penalties or administrative fees.
