In the forested montains between the Selangor-Pahang border, the Scottish trader found a business opportunity establishing a tin ore trading station at the end of the 19th century. Louis James Fraser ascended the hill to trade the tin ore using a mule train. One day, in the dense of the forested hill, Fraser disappeared and was never be found.

Aside from the tin ore, there is another potential the hill can offer. It was discovered that this hill can become a potential cool getaway. The hills were surveyed and eventually developed into a hill retreat or Highland Resort and named after the missing Scottsman in 1919. Today, this hill is now known as the Fraser’s Hill Highland Resort.
