Dubai UAE and Singapore To Develop Terminals to Strengthen Cruise Tourism Industry

The UAE and Singapore are developing terminals to meet the demand of the growth of global cruise industry in both countries. UAE and Singapore are set to strengthen the tourists links and want to meet the expected increase of demand. The global cruise industry is growing and the demands are high and because of this development there will be a huge influx of tourists in these two countries. This information was revealed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing also has announced earlier this month that the emirate’s new terminal will be ready for tourism business in January 2010. The new terminal of Dubai can hold four ships at once.
The new Dubai terminal will boost up tourism in the UAE because of the number of cruise passengers that will enter in the emirate. Dubai will expect more tourist to come. There are about 260,000 to 380,000 passengers entering the emirate each year. With the new terminal of Dubai, it is expected that there will be a six percent annual global growth rate of passengers that will enter the emirates. This expectation surpasses the market analysts’ prediction of the annual global rate to 2020.
Singapore on the other hand has broken down on its International Cruise Terminal (ICT). The construction of the new International Cruise Terminal (ICT) will be completed on 2011. This new Singapore International Cruise Terminal is expected to double the city’s berthing capacity. As of today, the cruise passenger throughput has grown steadily, registering an average annual growth rate of 12 percent between 2003 and 2008.
As of now, Asia is fast becoming the cruise playground of many tourists and travelers because of the scenic views, varied beautiful landscapes, various natural tourist attractions, warm hospitality and multi-cultural appeal. Tourists, travelers and visitors will expect a first-class cruising experience from the beginning to the end of the cruise.
